Haley may not be the most popular marriage candidate in Stardew Valley, but she’s very lovable once you get to know her and doesn’t deserve the hate she gets online. Sure, she’s a bit shallow and rude at first, but give her some gifts and talk to her often, and she’ll soften up quite a bit. Those who take the time to get to know Haley can attest to the fact that she has some of the best character development in the game.
If you’re looking to get to know Haley’s true character, it’ll be useful to know which gifts she likes and even loves. Here are all of Haley’s favorite gifts.
Loved Gifts
Haley loves the sun, and that’s reflected in her favorite gifts. Her loved gifts include coconuts, Fruit Salad, Pink Cake, and sunflowers.To make the Fruit Salad, get the recipe from the Queen of Sauce on Fall 7 in Year 2. It consists of a blueberry, a melon, and an apricot.

The Pink Cake recipe is a melon, some wheat flour, sugar, and an egg. You can learn this recipe from the Queen of Sauce on Summer 21 in Year 2, and actually specifically mentions Haley as a “viewer from Pelican Town” writing in to ask for them to make the cake on their show.
Find coconuts mainly by foraging in the Calico Desert or shaking palm trees on Ginger Island. You can grow sunflowers on your farm in the summer or fall. Giving Haley (or any character) a loved gift will grant you 80 friendship points.
Liked Gifts
Don’t have any of Haley’s favorite gifts? Don’t worry — there are gifts she likes as well, granting you 45 friendship points. Haley likes all the universal likes (which are covered below), but also likes Daffodils. Forage for these flowers in the spring.
Strangely, this is Haley’s only liked gift outside of the universal likes, which is unusual. Most characters have a few things they like individually. However, Daffodils are very easy to find in the spring, so this works out for those looking to impress Haley.
Universal Gifts in Stardew Valley
There is a list of universal loves in Stardew Valley: rabbit’s feet, Prismatic Shards, pearls, the Golden Pumpkin, and Magic Rock Candy.
For the most part, everyone loves each of these gifts. However, Haley is one of the (very) rare exceptions, as she, for some reason, hates Prismatic Shards. This and Penny’s distaste for rabbit’s feet are the only exceptions in the entire game to the universal loves. It’s unclear why Haley hates Prismatic Shards, but be sure not to give her one, or she’ll be angry.
The universal likes include the following things: most artisan goods, most cooked dishes, most flowers, most foraged minerals, most fruits from fruit trees, most gems, most vegetables, Life Elixirs, and maple syrup. Haley actually dislikes vegetables, though, posing one exception to this list.
