PS Plus subscribers have something great to look forward to every month in the form of free games! Being a subscriber of PS Plus, you always play this mind game of “Is it going to be a good lineup or not?”. The lineup for May had a pretty good lineup with Battlefield V, Stranded Deep, Wreckfest, and a few others. The June lineup for PS Plus is shaping up to be exciting as well with Star Wars: Squadrons.
Areajugones, a Spanish website, seems to have intel on the June lineup. The website mentions the possibility of 3 PS Plus games, Star Wars: Squadrons, Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown, and Operation Tango.
First question, can we believe this leak? The answer is yes and no. No, because it’s just a leak like every other scenario. Yes, because this is a website that has built up a name for being accurate on leaks. Now the second question, how are the games? Are they worth downloading or taking up a membership? This question rests mainly upon one game, Star Wars: Squadrons. If you are a fan of the Star Wars series and haven’t played the game, the answer is yes. If you aren’t a die-hard fan of the Star Wars series, the answer is still yes.
Squadrons is a space combat game set in the glorious Star Wars Universe. Playing from the first-person perspective, you control different starfighters from either the Galactic Empire or the New Republic Navy.
The game is also playable in Virtual Reality for VR users, making flying a starfighter an even more immersive experience. Check out the gameplay below:
The game did not do marvellous when it came to reviews, which to some may mean it’s pointless spending a big wad of cash on, But is it a game that you should get your hands on if offered for free? Absolutely!
Virtua Fighter 5 is a game that adds a bit of suspicion to this leak as the game has just been announced. It’s common for some games to use the PS Plus Free games release as a way of marketing so it’s entirely possible, though it is cause for skepticism. Operation Tango, on the other hand is a cooperative spy game set for release on June 1st, putting it in the same category as Virtua Fighter 5. It’s a lesser-known game so PS Plus could give it all the attention it needs.
