The Dead Space Remake in the works at EA Motive might be aiming for a Fall 2022 release.
According to a report by GamesBeat, sources close to the Dead Space Remake said it could launch next Fall. The report also claims that “EA is anticipating a Dead Space launch during its 2023 fiscal year.”
However, when asked about the rumor, EA didn’t budge on whether or not it is true. “We haven’t shared a release date for the game, and we don’t have any comment based on the current rumor and speculation. But we’re glad people are excited for the game!”
Regardless of whether the Dead Space Remake comes out in 2022 or not, EA plans to release more about the game in the coming year. The remake was officially announced earlier this year during an EA Play showcase, but rumors about the remake had surfaced long before that. According to the development team, they play to take full advantage of the technology in the next generation of consoles for a seamless experience.
Dead Space was originally released in October 2008. Dead Space 2 followed in 2011, and Dead Space 3 completed the trilogy in 2013. An idea of a fourth game with a female protagonist and an open-world map was thrown around, but it never came to fruition.
The Dead Space Remake might release during the Fall of 2022, but what we do know is that it will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC upon release. EA has already promised fans that the game will be completely free of microtransactions in a push to keep them out of single-player experiences.
