Hey, it’s no mean feat to get to 1 million followers on any platform. God knows I’d like to get there myself. But hey, I’ve not made a super successful anime series that has been considered me of the best of the past few years. Instead, I’m writing an article about it. Anyway, the Twitter account behind Jujitsu Kaisen recently crossed the 1 million followers threshold, and MAPPA, the studio behind its anime adaptation, paid their tribute by designing a special piece of artwork to commemorate that event.
引き続き『呪術廻戦』をよろしくお願いします!https://t.co/xObNF7q6TO pic.twitter.com/uQsuBNe1j3

The translation for the tweet was as follows (credit to DeepL and Twitter user @hoshi801_):
The number of followers of this account has recently surpassed 1M! Thank you for supporting Jujitsu Kaisen! To celebrate, we’ve released a new thank you visual drawn by MAPPA, featuring Yuuji, Megumi, Kugasaki and Gojo! Please continue to support Jukitsu Kaisen!” – DeepL translation
The official Jujitsu Kaisen manga Twitter account also reached 1 million followers recently in July, and similarly, special artwork commemorated the achievement drawn by the manga creator Gege Akutami.

Jujitsu Kaisen aired last year during the Fall 2020 season of anime and was widely regarded as one of the best shows to come out of Japan in recent years (it currently holds an 8.75 on MyAnimeList). I haven’t watched it myself, but it’s on my watchlist, something that never seems to shorten. I even referred to it in my Laid Back Camp Season 2 review – hint hint. The plot follows Yuuji Itadori, who lives in Sendai with his grandfather. After interacting with what is known as a “cursed item”, Yuuji is thrust into a strange supernatural world that he must make sense of quickly, and get a grasp of his newfound powers.
The news about Jujitsu Kaisen‘s 1 million Twitter followers is just the latest to center around anime and the popular social media platform, as One Piece recently paid tribute to athletes who performed celebrations inspired by the long-running anime.
What do you make of Jujitsu Kaisen‘s Twitter account hitting 1 million followers? Are you one of them? Have you watched the anime yet or read the manga? Leave a comment down below with what you thought.
