Sea of Thieves is now well into its new seasonal release structure, and so far it’s been quite the success. For the otherwise unaware, Sea of Thieves is now releasing a nicely sized content update every three months, instead of smaller updates each and every month. And with the first three being major successes, it’s likely that the team will be sticking with the new format going forward. As we make our way through the Fall season though, it’s time for yet another step in this fresh content structure. In a trailer released today, the Sea of Thieves team detailed what’s on the way with Season Four (beginning September 23) including new content, cosmetics, and more! You can find the trailer below.

Sea of Thieves Season Four looks to explore the depths of what’s possible with some new underwater activities, taking the form of the new Siren Shrines. The sunken depths have awoken, and thus six of these Shrines have awakened across the Sea of Thieves. Each of these shrines contains plenty of puzzles and enemies to face, but equally brings with it a heap of rewards in the form of chests and other trinkets. These new shrines are marked on your map, and can be noted by a beautiful purple glow shining above the waves. Thankfully, should you run into other pirates looking to take this treasure, you can store the treasures within a merfolk statue beneath the waves, so you may claim it from a mermaid above the waves.

If you manage to gather all the various sunken treasure items being added with this update, you’ll also be able to acquire the new Coral Curse tattoo, donning your pirate with a purple glow along parts of their body. It’s quite stylish! Speaking of stylish, the next Plunder Pass is yet again free, and brings with it a host of new cosmetics to earn through gameplay. There’s also a premium pass, featuring even more rewards should you pay a small premium. Over in the Pirate Emporium even is some new cosmetics, featuring crocodile-themed cosmetics, fresh emotes, and much more!

Are you excited about Sea of Thieves Season Four and all that’s on the way, and what’d you think of the new trailer? Let us know in the comments below.
