The events of the Dark Aether story have all been building to Forsaken: Requiem and Omega are in a race to get Zykov out of the Dark Aether as the Forsaken himself starts to set his plan into motion. It’s up to you to save the world from total annihilation, and my job is to make sure you know how to do it. Here, we’ll show you how to complete the Forsaken Easter Egg in Black Ops Cold War.

Step 1: Lift the Lockdown and Summon the Forsaken
The first step is to lift the facility out of lockdown. This is pretty straightforward, as, just like all previous Cold War Zombies maps, the waypoints on the map will lead you to the button. This next part is actually easy to miss, however. In the same location where you lift the lockdown and find Pack-a-Punch, there is a set of windows that are shuttered. Interact with the button to the right of the shutters to start a cutscene where the Forsaken enters the facility, and Samantha Maxis sets out to fight him. This marks the start of the main quest.
Sam needs your help in the town square, but the only way to her is blocked by the Aether. You will need to build an Aetherium Neutralizer.
Step 2: Get the Chrysalax Wonder Weapon
There are four ways to get the wonder weapon on the map, but the only way to guarantee that you can get the weapon is to build it. You will need to get a Polymorphic Crystal Core, Energetic Geode, and Tempered Crystal Heart parts and take them to the Aetherium pool next to the particle accelerator in the Bunker. For a more in-depth guide on how to build the Chrysalax wonder weapon, there is a guide linked here.
Step 3: Build the Aetherium Neutralizer
The Aetherium Neutralizer has three parts: the Housing Unit, the Fuel Tank, and the Monitoring Device. This is how you get all three.
Step 3a: Get the Fuel Tank
Go to the Fuel Processing area on the map. It is where you have to repair the teleporter to get to the bunker. There are three fuel silos here, have each person in your game interact with one of them at the same time (if you are solo, you just have to interact with one of them). This will initiate a lockdown that will flood the area with enemies. Simply survive, and the Fuel Tank will spawn in the middle of the room.
Step 3b: Get the Housing Unit
Go to the Board Room found in the Bunker area. In one of the corners, you can see a satellite-looking object hanging on the wall. You will need to get an Abomination to charge into the wall to knock it down so that you can pick it up.
Step 3c: Get the Monitoring Device
One of the more complicated steps in the Forsaken Easter Egg of Black Ops Cold War is to get a weapon with the Dead Wire Alternate Ammo Type and head over to the Arcade. Near the Der Eisendrache pinball machine is a disabled arcade cabinet for the game Grand Prix. Kill a zombie with Dead Wire next to the cabinet to turn it on. Interact with the game to take control of a special ARC-XD. Follow the arrows to get out of the Arcade, go to the TV store across the street, go behind the counter, and pass through the vent. Turn right when through the vent and detonate the ARC-XD. Go to the store, and you will find the Monitoring Device sticking out of the wall.
Step 4: Break the Crystals and Feed Abominations
With that done, you need charged crystals to fuel the Neutralizer. To do this, you will need to destroy the large Aetherium Crystals found in the Staging Area, Main Street, and Bunker. You will have to destroy three floating orbs to get to the crystal itself, and I suggest using your gun variant of the Chrysalax because these things cause a lot of damage. Also, know that once you engage with one of these orbs, zombies will infinitely spawn in the area, and a lot of Elites will join them. Upon breaking the orbs, use the axe to break the crystal. You will now be able to pick up a crystal shard. Take it to an Abomination and throw it at it when it opens its mouth, then kill it. If done correctly, it will drop a charged crystal. Do this for all three crystals.
Step 5: Pass through the Phase
With all the components together, go to the buildable desk on Main Street and build the Neutralizer. After some dialogue, you will start to pass through the Phase. You will need to stay in its dome to not take damage, but you will also need to leave the dome to get red crystals to refuel the Neutralizer. Just keep doing it until you reach a heavy duty blast door. The Wunderfizz, armor station, buildable table, and Pack-a-Punch will spawn here. Get anything upgraded that still needs to be and bring a Kazimir grenade and semtex grenades, and a death machine or war machine. This is the final battle!
Step 6: Boss Fight
The Forsaken doesn’t move around the map; instead, it uses big energy attacks and mobs of zombies and elites to attack the player. On both of his shoulders, there are Aetherium Crystals. Destroy them to lower his shield. At this point, you will need to help Sam in charging two big railguns that are in the area. You do this by killing zombies under Sam to fill the “Essence” bar seen on the left side of the screen. Once the bar is filled, Sam will go to one of the guns and charge, giving you the chance to shoot him in the weak point that you just exposed. The fight is mostly just this, just with the Forsaken gaining a few new moves like a electric ball that will follow players and a roaming ice storm, but all you have to do is keeping an eye out for the crystals on his body, lower his shield and shoot the laser at the crystals on his body. keep doing this until his health is gone, and you will defeat the Forsaken and complete the Easter Egg.
With all that done, the outro cutscene will play, and you will have completed the Forsaken Easter Egg in Black Ops Cold War!
