The official trailer for “The Wheel of Time” series was released today. And Amazon Studios is releasing it with the unique use of YouTube’s 360 feature.

In a piece by Collider, the details regarding this unique trailer get a bit of an explanation. Viewers can scroll left or right to see different details and symbols emerge related to the series. For example, one can scroll left to see Moiraine Damodred’s (Rosamund Pike) channeling the “One Power.” Or they can scroll right to see the lurking Dark One.

The left of the screen is composed of white wavelengths while the right is composed of black ones. Entertainment Weekly explains that the idea is to have the left side display the magic energy channeled by the all-female mystic order known as the Aes Sedai. The right side, however, represents the black energy of the evil Dark One. It’s all about the cosmic battle between good and evil.

Various symbols and words emerge in this 3D trailer on both sides, so die-hard fans may be spending hours watching this trailer to ensure they get every last Easter egg from the series.

The Wheel of Time is based on the beloved series of fantasy novels written by Robert Jordan. It was announced in 2018 that Amazon Studios would release a series based on the epic novels. In the stories, magic exists, but can only be used by females. The female character Moiraine Demodred is a member of the Aes Sedai, and she embarks on a journey to fulfill a prophecy with five young men and women.

The teaser trailer for The Wheel of Time was released in September. The series will premiere on Amazon Prime on November 19. What do you all think of this interesting 360 trailer for The Wheel of Time? Are you looking forward to the series? Are any of you major fans of the books?
