CD Projekt’s Cyberpunk 2077, a game that equally serves as one of the most anticipated games ever, and one of the greatest laughing stocks in the modern gaming era. When the game was officially released, to say it was the butt end of every joke under the sun would be an understatement, though much of that was warranted. While the quality of the game itself was more up for debate, its polishing was frankly unacceptable for a game at its level. With so many issues, missing features initially promised, and more, the team has been working for nearly a year now to rectify those issues. Now, it seems we’ll be waiting even longer unfortunately. As originally noted by gaming news YouTuber Tyler McVicker (who does some great reporting, by the way), CD Projekt Red has shifted its Cyberpunk 2077 roadmap to have all fixes, improvements, and content updates moved into 2022.

On October 28th, 2021, @CDPROJEKTRED updated the roadmap for @CyberpunkGame, now stating that all future content updates, fixes and improvements, will take place in the calendar year of 2022. pic.twitter.com/DRgHKICra8

While this news is unfortunate for those like me who wish to replay the game in a state that’s considerably more acceptable, it doesn’t come as a surprise either. There was a colossal amount of bugs in the original version of the game, and while it’s currently in a better state than it was last December, its not quite up to the level of quality fans had hoped for. I don’t blame them for taking extra time to make these fixes, though it does mean we’ll be waiting a tad longer. I can only hope that once all these updates for Cyberpunk 2077 release, the title will feel great for a replay.

In the meantime, you can thankfully find plenty of RPG goodness elsewhere to enjoy this holiday. Recently, we had the release of Guardians of the Galaxy which, according to fellow writer Matthew, is everything the game should be. You could also check out MMORPG New World, which we have an extensive set of guides on.
