A prominent industry insider , Jeff Grubb, revealed some new details about Quantic Dream’s upcoming Star Wars game, which is reportedly called Star Wars Eclipse, and that it will possibly be revealed sooner than we thought.

Quantic Dream is a very popular developer in the gaming industry, making some of the most popular and well-received games ever made. The most notable games to mention would include Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. Before this news, it was totally unknown what their next project would be. But now thanks to insider Jeff Grubb, whose Twitter can be found here, we have information.

According to Jeff Grubb, this new title is called Star Wars Eclipse and is “ready to be announced soon.” He said “before the end of the year,” and the logical deduction from that is the Game Awards 2021, which recently confirmed a showcase of 40-50 games (with new game reveals in the double figures). As such, fans could very well likely know the truth of this information soon enough.

Detroit: Become Human

Furthermore, while Grubb wasn’t certain of all the details, he believes that Star Wars Eclipse is set during the High Republic Era. Fans of the franchise know that the High Republic was introduced early this year with new comics, books, and characters and that the High Republic itself was a time of peace 200 years before the prequel trilogy thanks to the strong presence of Jedi throughout the galaxy.

Alongside this news delivered by Grubb, there have other rumors about the game floating around for some time now, some being that it has been in development for 18 months and that Star Wars Eclipse is essentially nothing like the studio’s previous titles. The keywords used to describe it has been “action-adventure,” “open-world,” and “multiplayer.” Whilst this would be new for the studio, they could definitely make a success of it.
