As the PC version of GTA Trilogy is still inaccessible, users are reviewing bombing it on Metacritic. At the time of writing, the GTA Trilogy user score is 0.6 with more than 2000 reviews.
Review bombing is one of many ways users protest against a game. It seems the main reason fans are review bombing GTA Trilogy is the inaccessibility of the game for PC users. After the fans found files related to unlicensed soundtracks and uncompiled files, Rockstar pulled the GTA Trilogy from its PC launcher.
Out of 2096 user reviews on Metacritic, 72 of them are positive, 29 are mixed and 1993 are negative. Alongside the PC version of GTA Trilogy, the Nintendo Switch version also rates at 0.6 out of 10.
The release of GTA Trilogy caused quite a bit of chaos for Rockstar Games. The long-awaited fans are demanding a refund and Rockstar has not responded to these calls.
On November 13, the account tweeted: “The Rockstar Games Launcher is now online, but GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is unavailable to play or purchase as we remove files unintentionally included in these versions. We’re sorry for the disruption and hope to have correct ones up soon.”
GTA Trilogy got review bombed as data miners have found the uncompiled files of Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy and claimed it contains the infamous Hot Coffee files as well.
It seems the main reason Rockstar pulled GTA Trilogy from its launcher is to double-check the files and remove them if it is there.
Hot Coffee was a sex mini-game in Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas that was disabled in the final cut of the game. But some fans discovered the files and with the help of some mod, made it available again that cost Rockstar $20m in legal costs.
