Would you believe it if I said Pokemon was celebrating its 25th anniversary this year? And what a year of celebration it has been. Not one, but two mainline games have been shown off this year. There’s been an impressive Pokemon-centric album that dropped in October. And not to mention, their exclusive Pokemon TV app! The most popular, however, has been the Pokemon Evolutions series that debuted in September. It’s an eight-episode series focusing on each of the regions. The first four episodes finished on October 21, followed by a small break. Now, the second trailer has been released!

Pokemon Evolutions: An Impressive Display of Each Generation

If you haven’t checked out Pokemon Evolutions, it’s worth a watch. As described, it’s an eight-episode series that focuses on the high points of each generation. Going backward from generation 8 (AKA Galar Region), it’s been an eclectic mix of key points. So far, the majority have focused on fights between the hero and the villain of each game. Meant to mirror the climax in animated form, they’ve given fans a nice taste of nostalgia for Pokemon’s 25th anniversary. Episode 1 focused on the Champion Leon of Galar. Otherwise, the rest have been from the villains’ viewpoint as the player/hero comes to save the day from the Legendary disaster they’ve unleashed. Both the animation and story-telling have been impressive.

What’s in Store for the Second Half?

The new Pokemon Evolutions trailer, though short, has given us some things to look forward to. It shows the clash with Sinnoh’s Team Galactic for our next episode. The Primal Threat from Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire will be Hoenn’s focus. Johto’s Bell Tower and the Lugia/Ho-Oh clash come with our second-to-last episode. And as people can assume from the logo, Mewtwo will likely be the focus of our eighth and final episode. All of the episode clips have been the same level of impressive animation and action. Looks like Pokemon Evolutions is, well, evolving into a great series overall.

Pokemon Evolutions is available to watch on the Pokemon YouTube channel, as well as the Pokemon TV App. The app can be downloaded on Nintendo Switch and Android/iOS phones. The next episode begins streaming next week on December 2.
