A teaser video (starring Popuko and Pipimi) posted earlier today show that the second anime series of Pop Team Epic has been confirmed for next year. The video debuted after Pop Team Epic Repeat and stars Shota Aoi, one of the most memorable appearances during the first series.
Currently, Crunchyroll, Funimation, and Netflix are streaming Pop Team Epic Repeat as it airs in Japan. The series adapts the surreal four-panel manga that centers around two 14-year old girls. Crunchyroll describes the series as:
Crude, rude, and a liittle…. cute? Get ready for the larger than life attitude of Popuko and Pipimi, the small and tall stars. Based off the bizarre four panel webcomic by Buku Okawa comes a comedy that’ll throw you fof witih its out-there jokes and intense absurdity. You thnk you’re ready for these girls? Think again!”
Pop Team Epic’s Absurd Comedy
The first television series premiered in January 2018. HDIVE, Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Amazon Prime all streamed the anime as it premiered in Japan. Adult Swim’s Toonami block also began airing the anime in 2018. Since then, Funimation released the anime on Blu-Ray in North America. However, the only downside to owning the disc is that there is only half of each episode, rather than the full run. Netflix has since added the full episodes to its platform.

The original broadcast of the first series featured rolling voice actors for the two main characters Popuko and Pipimi. Different voice actors voice Popuko and Pipimi each half-season. The original Pop Team Epic anime episodes are each 23 minutes long. Each episode has two main parts with the same content, except for different voice actors and altered jokes.
Pop Team Epic’s second series is set to premiere in 2022. There is also an English dub available on Netflix, Crunchyroll, Amazon Prime, and Funimation.
