Amazon Prime Video announced today that the hit reality TV competition Making the Cut was renewed for a third season to air this summer. The show is produced and hosted by Tim Gunn and Heidi Klum, both of Project Runway fame.

First premiering in 2020, Making the Cut has a partnership signed with Amazon, which features their show on Amazon Prime Video in exchange for Amazon Fashion having exclusive rights to the fashion the show and its winners produce.

Making the Cut features ten up-and-coming fashion designers pitted against each other in weekly design competitions, each with a central theme or challenge, such as collaboration or streetwear, that the contestants must successfully overcome in order to please the judges. The panel of judges changes from season to season, with past judges including Chiara Ferragni (Germany’s Next Top Model) and Winnie Harlow (America’s Next Top Model). Deadline has reported that season 1 judge Nicole Richie (RuPaul’s Drag Race) and season 2 judge Jeremy Scott, creative director of Moschino, will return in Making the Cut season 3.

What’s New in Making the Cut Season 3

Season 3 of the show will feature ten new fashion designers competing for the prize of $1 million to invest in their fashion brand, a partnership with Amazon Fashion, and the opportunity to produce an exclusive line of fashion to put on Amazon Fashion’s Making the Cut store. Like many other reality TV shows, Making the Cut is filmed in Beverly Hills, California, and has runway locations on Rodeo Drive, Vasquez Rocks, and a skyscraper rooftop in downtown LA, according to TV Insider.

There is not much else about season 3, except for a projected premiere sometime in summer 2022. Aside from Richie and Scott, more information on the Making the Cut season 3 judges and contestants will reportedly be revealed as the show gets closer to its premiere.
