There is a great multitude of sorceries that players can collect and make full use of in Elden Ring. Relying on the Intelligence stat for damage scaling, these magical abilities offer a great variety of damage dealing, buffing, and support utility. One such powerful and useful sorcery is the Carian Slicer, which allows you to summon a large magical sword for a strong, sweeping slash. However, there is a certain item in a specific place you will need to collect before the spell is even available to be purchased and acquired. How To Get And Use Carian Slicer
Carian Slicer can be found very early on during your Elden Ring journey. You will first need to collect an item called the Royal House Scroll, which can be given to NPCs who teach sorcery to unlock new purchasable magical spells. The Royal House Scroll is right in Limgrave, the very first major area of the game, so it should not take you long at all to get your hands on it. The closest Site of Grace is the Lake Agheel South Site of Grace, which is only a short walk from your destination. Once you arrive at Lake Agheel South, start making your way east where you should see a large enemy encampment around some fallen ruins. Make your way up the small mountain by hugging the cliffside as you start going slightly northeast until it is low enough to where you can jump up to the slope leading upwards. Stay on high alert, although many of the low undead-like enemies can be easily avoided with Torrent and by running around them. There will also be several Kaiden Sellswords both mounted on horseback and on the ground, ready to get the upper hand in battle. Continue up the ruins and mountainside until you reach the sunken, ruined building surrounded by enemies. Go around to the back where you can hop up the rocks to make a safe jump onto the top of the ruins where a Noble Sorcerer undead will be waiting for you. Dispatch him quickly, and you can loot the Royal House Scroll containing Carian Slicer from the body next to him.

After obtaining the Royal House Scroll, you can take it to Sorceress Sellen in the Waypoint Ruins for her to keep. From this point, the Carian Slicer will be available for purchase at the low price of 1500 runes. If you decide on making the worthwhile investment, go ahead and rest at any Site of Grace. There will be an option to select, “Memorize Spells,” which will allow you to equip any spells you have already learned. Keep in mind that Carian Slicer does need at least 14 intelligence to even be used at all, so make sure your stats are appropriate for the spell needed. If you have your spell selected and memorized, you can now use Carian Slicer to your heart’s content. Brandish any Glintstone staff of your choosing, cycle through the spells you have memorized with the appropriate assigned button, and press the attack button to use your new fancy spell. Foes of all types will now learn to fear your new massive magical sword, so go out into the world of Elden Ring and have fun with it.
