A new Daredevil series is officially in the works for Disney+ with Covert Affairs creators Matt Corman and Chris Ord set to write and executive produce. The Hollywood Reporter says that this is the first Netflix Marvel show to get a new but continued series. During its time on Netflix, Daredevil ran for three seasons and was insanely popular for its grittiness, dark themes, and Charlie Cox’s fantastic portrayal of the blind layer and “man without fear” Matt Murdock, a.k.a. Daredevil. Fans of the show were delighted when Cox reprised the character in the MCU, first appearing in 2021’s Spider-Man: No Way Home.

According to The A.V. Club, no one has officially been cast in the new series. However, it would be quite surprising if Cox were not reprising his role. He has already appeared in an MCU film, and his former co-star Vincent D’Onofrio ( Wilson Fisk/Kingpin), appeared in the Disney+ series Hawkeye, also part of the MCU. Both actors are confirmed to reprise their characters in the upcoming series Echo, also for Disney+. Chances are we can expect to see at least Cox in the new Daredevil series.

Could Other Netflix Shows Get Disney+ Reboots?

Daredevil, along with the rest of Netflix’s Marvel catalog, was moved to Disney+ in March. Since then, there has been plenty of speculation some of these shows could receive new life on the new platform. Speculations have arisen that The Punisher and Iron Fist could be potentially rebooted, though the latter was one of the less successful shows on Netflix. However, nothing has been confirmed other than the new Daredevil series.
