Blizzard has announced the first invitation-only Beta Test Weekend for Overwatch from Friday 20th November until Monday 23rd November. Blizzard has said that most of the beta invites have been sent to Europe and the Americas. The purpose of the beta is primarily to stress test on servers and hardware, ย however for many it will be the first in-depth look at Overwatch. Overwatch will be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and
Overwatch, which was announced last year at BlizzCon 2014 is the newest original title from Blizzard and will be a team based multiplayer first person shooter, at the time Blizzard said Overwatch was a โpick up and play first person shooterโ.
Overwatch is set in a technologically advanced future earth, in a global crisis, the game is highly stylised and seems to have an emphasis on teamwork. Blizzard said that players will be able to combine characters powers. Since last year, Blizzard has bolstered the number of characters from 12 to 21, which will all be available to play in this beta. The beta will have three maps available, called: Hanamura, Kingโs Row, and Watchpoint: Gibraltar. Players who want to get a chance to get in on future beta tests need to have a battle.net account and opt in for beta tests on their profile page.
