Quincey, the Bandit King, is the ultimate test in V Rising‘s first act. After a series of intense battles with feral beasts and the undead, this bandit overlord is determined to halt your journey toward becoming a master vampire. As the final battle of Act I, preparing yourself in advance is crucial. With a minimum gear score of 37, you’ll need to put in some serious effort. And be warned, this fight is no walk in the park, but beating him is worth it.

Where To Find Quincey the Bandit King in V Rising

(Updated on May 7, 2024 – Adjusted information in line with the game’s full launch and added images)

Before you face this challenging foe, you must locate him. Quincey the Bandit King is at the Bandit Stronghold, which is at the end of V Rising‘s starting area, as you can see in the above image. To enter this area, you must first obtain explosives or your Bear form to tear down the gate. Without any of these, you won’t be able to face Quincey. But if you already have any of the items or feral forms, all you must do is eliminate the packs of bandits in the stronghold and reach the top of this area to find Quincey.

In reality, the fight itself is relatively easy. What makes the encounter difficult is the addition of new AoE attacks, which can take you down in a few hits. These are some of Quincey’s moves and a few tips to avoid each:

  • Chaos Magic AoE Attack: For the lack of a better name, Quincey will launch many cracks of Chaos magic that will explode after a few seconds. They occupy a long portion of the stage, so the only way to avoid them is to run far away from the boss and wait for the cracks to split and show openings. Stand in any safe spot to avoid all damage.
  • Charge: Quincey will charge three times toward you, doing a lot of damage and stunning you. The easiest way to avoid this attack is by standing next to a wall and dodging at the last second. This will cause Quincey to hit the wall and get stunned. This is the perfect moment to hit him as hard as you can.
  • Bandit Summons: Quincey will summon many bandits throughout the fight to attack you. When this happens, focus on defeating the bandits first before you turn your attention back to the Bandit King.

As a general recommendation, bring melee and ranged weapons for this fight. You’ll need a lot of mobility and ranged attacks whenever Quincey is running away from you. Also, avoid hitting him when his shield is up, as this will damage you a lot.
