When it comes to V Rising, the weapon you choose is not necessarily important. The player can easily defeat any enemy if they have a high enough level. So, at the end of the day, it all comes down to preference. The way this will be ranked is based purely on DPS, as this will make your fights quicker, with the least effort put in. If your favorite weapon is the worst-ranked, don’t worry, it just means it is not the best for intense, head-on fighting. But which one is the best for that type of combat?
Best Weapons in V Rising
Here are the 7 categories of armaments you can use in V Rising:
- The Sword
- The Spear
- The Axes
- The Mace
- The Reaper
- The Slasher
- The Crossbow
7. The Crossbow
Primary Attack | Fire a projectile that deals 115% physical damage on hit | 1 second Cast Time | 0.55 seconds Cooldown |
Rain Of Bolts | Fire a salvo of 5 bolts into the air that rains down on your enemies, dealing 40% physical damage each in an area and inflicts a 1.5-second fading snare | 0.4 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
Snapshot | Fire a quick bolt that deals 75% damage, interrupts casts, and inflicts a 2-second fading snare | 0.3 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
Unfortunately for fans of ranged weapons, this is all you get. The crossbow is very slow and straightforward: shoot, reload, repeat. The time it takes to attack an enemy is 1 second. That is an eternity compared to the others we got on this list. Your only hope for the crossbow is to politely ask the developers to buff it.
6. The Slasher
Primary Attack | Perform a combo of melee attacks dealing 27.5% / 27.5% / 35% physical damage | 0.2 seconds Cast Time | 0 seconds Cooldown |
Slashers Skill | Elusive Strike Dash back and forth, slashing at your enemies, dealing 60% physical damage, and inflicting a 2-second slow on each hit | 0.2 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
Camouflage | Enter a state of camouflage, increasing movement speed by 25% for 3 seconds. Your next primary attack deals 80% physical damage and incapacitates the enemy for 3 seconds. Using any skill breaks camouflage | 0 seconds Cast Time | 10 seconds Cooldown |
Arguably one of the best weapons for PVP, the slasher is very impressive in regards to speed and abilities. The only problem one might have with it is that it has the worst DPS out of all the equipment.
5. The Reaper
Primary Attack | Perform a combo of melee attacks dealing 50% / 50% / 55% physical damage | 0.3 seconds Cast Time | 0 seconds Cooldown |
Tendon Swing | Swing your reaper dealing 125% physical damage to nearby enemies, knocking them back, and inflicting a 2-second fading snare | 0.2 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
Howling Reaper | Throw a howling reaper that spins in place dealing 20% physical damage every 0.25 seconds for 2.5 seconds. The initial projectile hit slows the enemies for 1.5 seconds | 0.5 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
The reaper is slow and sluggish, but it hits hard. Good for people that are trying to role play, bad for the players who want to defeat enemies fast.
4. The Mace
Primary Attack | Perform a combo of melee attacks dealing 50% / 50% / 60% physical damage | 0.35 seconds Cast Time | 0 seconds Cooldown |
Crushing Blow | Vault towards the cursor and slam your mace into the ground, dealing 110% physical damage, and inflicting a 2-second fading snare | 0.7 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
Smack | Smack enemies in front of you, dealing 50% physical damage, knocking them back, and incapacitating them for 1.2 seconds | 0.35 seconds Cast Time | 9 seconds Cooldown |
The mace deals great damage in detriment of speed. It moves similarly to the reaper but can hit harder.
3. The Axes
Primary Attack | Perform a combo of melee attacks dealing 45% / 45% / 55% physical damage | 0.25 seconds Cast Time | 0 seconds Cooldown |
Frenzy | Dash forward and strike the first enemy dealing 100% physical damage. Enter a state of frenzy that increases your movement speed by 25% and increases attack speed by 30% for 0.3 seconds on a successful hit | 0.3 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
X-Strike | Throw two axes in the shape of an X. Each hit deals 85% physical damage and slows the enemy for 1.5 seconds. Hitting the enemy where both axes intersect inflicts a 2-second incapacitate | 0.5 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
The axes are very entertaining to use, as their skills are quite impressive. The only problem with them is that, if you miss, their powers are worthless.
2. The Spear
Primary Attack | Perform a combo of melee attacks dealing 40% / 40% / 50% physical damage | 0 seconds Cast Time | 0 seconds Cooldown |
A Thousand Spears | Perform a multi-stab attack, dealing 30% physical damage 8 times. Recast during the effect to perform a thrust attack dealing 50% physical damage and knocking enemies back | 0.35 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
Harpoon | Throw a spear that deals 70% physical damage and pulls the enemy towards you | 0.8 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
The spear has no cast time or cooldown for its primary attack, making it one of the best weapons in V Rising. Its DPS is off the charts, especially combined with its powerful skills.
1. The Sword
Primary Attack | Perform a combo of melee attacks dealing 35% / 35% / 40% physical damage | 0.2 seconds Cast Time | 0 seconds Cooldown |
Whirlwind | Spin around and slice nearby enemies dealing 35% physical damage every 0.25 seconds for 1.1 seconds | 0 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
Shockwave | Send forth a shockwave dealing 70% physical damage and launching the enemy hit into the air for 1.6 seconds. Recast the ability to teleport to the target, striking it three times, each strike deals 25% physical damage | 0.6 seconds Cast Time | 8 seconds Cooldown |
The sword objectively has the best DPS and the best ability for mobs. With its spinning attack, you can easily deal with most enemies in the game. What do you think are some of the best weapons in V Rising?
