“End of the Line,” the fourth part in the “Interlude Chapter: Act II – Perilous Trail,” features a puzzle during which Genshin Impact Travelers are tasked with using the Fantastic Compass to get through Story Domain, The Realm of Snaring Illusions. To reach the “End of the Line,” players will need to have completed the prerequisite quests: “The Unexpected Guest,” “Chasmic Maze,” and “Danger All Around.” These missions all take place in The Chasm, a subregion located to the west of Liyue Harbour. After speaking with Paimon and entering the Domain, Genshin Impact fans must first fight their way past enemies before discovering the solution to the Fantastic Compass puzzle.
Fantastic Compass Puzzle Solution in Genshin Impact

After entering The Realm of Snaring Illusions, players must play as Yanfei to defeat two waves of Treasure Hoarders. Afterward, fans will use Yanfei and Yelan to ward off the Fatui. Once the battle sequence is over, Genshin Impact Travelers must solve the Fantastic Compass puzzle by interacting with the needle of the compass in a specific manner multiple times.
The Fantastic Compass puzzle begins after Genshin Impact fans reach “Find more clues in the space” during the “End of the Line.” For the next sections of the Domain, players must solve mini-puzzles using various clues within Notes of Unknown Origin. However, these notes can be ignored if the player already knows the solution to the Fantastic Compass in Genshin Impact. Below are the steps for completing The Realm of Snaring Illusions:
- 1: First, destroy the small sakura next to the miniature compass on the right. Select the option “Rotate the Needle Forward” once. Pass through the gateway to the next area.
- 2: In the second location, head to the gate on the right and pull the lever to open it. Approach the small disc and select the option “Rotate the Needle Forward” once. Enter the gateway to the next area.
- 3: For the third site, destroy the spider web on the right and select the option “Rotate the Needle Backward” twice. Go through the gateway to the next area.
- 4: For the last area, select the option “Rotate the Needle Backward” once. Move through the gateway to complete the challenge.
After figuring out the solution for the Fantastic Compass puzzle, Genshin Impact Travelers will receive a Precious Chest for their efforts.
