One of the primary blocks that spawns within the Mangrove Swamp inย Minecraftย is the Mud Block, a decorative block that can be made into Mud Bricks. Mud Blocks can be picked up with one’s bare hands, but using a Shovel will noticeably speed up the process.ย Mangrove Swampsย are the natural sources of Mud Blocks, butย Minecraftย fans can also make Mud Blocks on their own. By using a Water Bottle on a Dirt Block, the cube will instantly become a Mud Block. Therefore, if players have a steady supply of Dirt and Water, they can make infinite Mud Blocks and Mud Bricks.

Some of the strongest structures rise from simple beginnings. In this case, it’s as simple as Mud. To make Mud Bricks in Minecraft, players must first craft Packed Mud, a block twice as hard as standard Mud. Here’s what you need to do:

  1. Combine Mud Block x1 and Wheat x1 to make Packed Mud
  2. Place Packed Mud x4 in a 2×2 square on the crafting grid
  3. Repeat as needed to get all the Mud Bricks you need

For clarification, Mud Block ร—4 and Wheat ร—4 are needed to make the required Packed Mud ร—4 for producing Mud Bricks ร—4 inย Minecraft. Mud Bricks have three times the Hardness of Mud Blocks and possess a Blast Resistance of 3. While they’re not as strong as Stone Blocks, they are a potentially cheaper substitute for structural protection against Creepers.

Mud Bricks can also be made into other structures, including Stairs, Slabs, and Walls. To make these blocks, fans must place them onto a Crafting Table in the correct pattern that resembles their shape. Alternatively, a much easier method to craft Mud Stairs, Slabs, and Walls using Mud Bricks is by utilizing aย Stonecutter inย Minecraft.

Getting a Stonecutter for Mud Bricks

Players will need three blocks of stone and one Iron Ingot to make a Stonecutter inย Minecraft. Stone Blocks can be obtained by smelting Cobblestone within a Furnace. On the other hand, those with aย Silk Touch-enchanted Pickaxeย can mine Stone Blocks directly. As for the Iron, players can find Iron Ore commonly in underground caves and mines.

One ore can be smelted into a single ingot. Using a Crafting Table, place the three Stone Blocks in a line of three below an Iron Ingot in the center to craft a Stonecutter. With a Stonecutter you can slice Mud Bricks to make your desired structures with ease. Just wash your hands after.
