Pokémon GO How to Get Tyrunt and Evolve it Into Tyrantrum
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

One of the two Pokémon that made their debut at the start of Adventure Week in Pokémon GO was Tyrunt, a Rock and Dragon-type Pokémon from the Kalos region. Tyrunt is small bipedal dinosaur-like Pokémon whose best Moveset is Dragon Tail as its Fast Move and Dragon Claw as its Charged Move. Since Tyrunt is a Rock and Dragon-type, Fighting, Ground, Steel, Ice, Dragon, and Fairy-type attacks will deal 160% more damage against this dino in combat. On the other hand, it has double resistance to Fire and can moderately withstand Normal, Flying, Poison, and Electric-type abilities. Once certain conditions have been met, Tyrunt will evolve into Tyrantrum in Pokémon GO.

Evolving Tyrunt into Tyrantrum in Pokémon GO

To get Tyrunt in Pokémon GO, Trainers can participate in a variety of activities during Adventure Week for a high chance of catching this dino Pokémon. Once Pokémon GO players have acquired Tyrunt, they can evolve it into Tyrantrum by feeding it 50 Candies during the daytime.

There are several ways to get Tyrunt during Adventure Week in Pokémon GO. The first and easiest method is to catch the Pokémon in the wild between 11 am and 12 pm on Sunday, June 12. June 12 marks the final day of the Adventure Week event and offers Trainers a significantly increased wild encounter rate for Tyrunt. Accordingly, be sure to log into the game during this time for an almost guaranteed chance to get Tyrunt. Another method is by completing Field Research Tasks for Adventure Week. More specifically, “Walk 5km” and “Spin 25 PokéStops or Gyms” are two tasks that will reward players with either Amaura or Tyrunt.

Another Adventure Week challenge in Pokémon GO that can reward players with Tyrunt is “Earn 5 Candies exploring with your buddy.” For the fastest results, Trainers are advised to use Buddy Pokémon which only requires the player to walk 1 km to earn a Candy. Such Pokémon include Jigglypuff, Pikachu, Weedle, Barboach, Wurmple, and Cleffa. Finally, any 7 km Eggs that hatch during Adventure Week can potentially grant Tyrunt. However, bear in mind that these only involve Eggs that have been obtained during the event. In other words, if a player attempts to hatch an Egg they received several weeks ago, it is relatively unlikely Tyrunt will be the outcome. After getting Tyrunt, Trainers can evolve it into Tyrantrum during daytime hours after procuring 50 Candies in Pokémon GO.
