Raft How To Get A Bow
This article is over 3 years old and may contain outdated information.

The Bow is a ranged weapon in Raft capable of using arrow projectiles to deal damage to enemy mobs from a distance. There’s no shortage of threatening creatures in the ocean’s waters and on islands. For example, the Shark is the iconic antagonist that players will deal with for a good portion of their playthrough, and the Screecher is a menace that reigns over Large Islands. While melee weaponry such as the Wooden and Metal Spear are effective, the Bow can be more versatile in combat situations, especially when a flying enemy is involved. Therefore, knowing how to craft a Bow is essential knowledge for survival in Raft.

Crafting a Bow in Raft

To craft a Bow in Raft, players must first discover its recipe via the Research Table. Constructing a Research Table requires Plank ×14 and Scrap ×2. Once the workstation has been set up, place a Plank, Rope, Vine Goo, and Bolt into the research slot to learn the Bow recipe in Raft.

First, players will need to gather wooden Planks for both the Research Table and the Bow. Planks appear in the ocean as random Flotsam or Crates found on islands. Survivors can also cut trees with a Stone Axe or Metal Axe to acquire Planks. Next, Scrap can be found in Barrels, Vacated Rafts, or near Island Reefs. If players manage to discover the Vasagatan shipwreck, they can find an abundance of Scrap onboard. After constructing the Research Table and placing it down, the next step is to collect the items needed for researching the Bow in Raft.

As mentioned above, Planks are easy to find from a variety of sources. Rope is a craftable material made with Palm Leaves ×2, a resource gathered as Flotsam or from cut-down trees. Second, Vine Goo is an item produced by putting Seaweed into a Smelter, a workstation that requires Plank ×4, Dry Brick ×6, Scrap ×4, and Nail ×6 to be assembled. The fourth and last material for crafting the Bow in Raft is the Bolt, which is made using a Metal Ingot. Players can produce a single Metal Ingot by placing Metal Ore into a Smelter. This ore can be gathered with a Hook from the underwater areas surrounding islands. Once Raft fans have finally researched the Bow, they can make it using the following:

  • Plank ×6
  • Rope ×4
  • Vine Goo ×2
  • Bolt ×1

Keep in mind that Stone Arrows or Metal Arrows must also be crafted as projectiles for the Bow.

Raft is available on PC.
