Bad news from Victorian-style fantasy game Nightingale. The game was announced at The Game Awards in 2021, and the developer studio Inflexion Games revealed the early access will be released in late 2022. But, it seems like the plans changed. A while ago, Inflexion posted to Twitter and announced that Nightingale has been delayed. The company also announced a new release date for Nightingale. So, here are the details.

When Will Nightingale Be Released?

Nightingale release date

First of all, this decision caused disappointment to the players. However, it sounds like Inflexion Games has good reasons. In its statement on Twitter, the company said that Unreal Engine 5 upgrade was behind the decision to delay the game’s early access. Inflexion wants to upgrade Nightingale to Unreal Engine 5. That’s why players have to wait a little bit more.

Inflexion Games’ statement is as follows;

”We’ve made the difficult decision to delay Nightingale’s Early Access release to the first half of 2023. We’ll have more news on specific timing at a later stage.

The move is based on two considerations: The first is an upgrade to Unreal Engine 5. After reviewing the potential UE5 has to offer, we decided on upgrading now rather than waiting until after release.

Secondly, Inflexion Games is committed to delivering the best possible experience and full filling the promise of what Nightingale’s universe of realms has to offer players. To achieve that, the additional time will allow the team to make key improvements, bolster content, and polish gameplay.

In the coming weeks, you’ll see more game and development updates from the team. Until then, we thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for what we’re making. It may take a little longer for the mystical Fae portals to open, but we appreciate you taking this journey with us.”

If we look at the statement, we can say that the early access will arrive in the first half of 2023. But still, there is no specific release date for Nightingale.
