Actor Steven Pasquale has been announced as the latest addition to the ABC series Avalon. Pasquale will join previously announced Neve Campell in the upcoming ABC drama series that follows the sheriff of a small town that must keep up with the tourism business of her hometown and a new, horrifying discovery.

Originally based on a short story by show co-creator Michael Connelly, Avalon on ABC will feature Neve Campbell (Scream) as Los Angeles Sheriff Department Detective Nicole “Nic” Searcy, living and serving the local population of the city of Avalon on Catalina Island. The city of Avalon reportedly serves more than a million tourists a year, and with the arrival of each new tourist, Nicole’s job gets more and more complicated – Avalon will follow Nicole as she uncovers a “career-defining mystery” that “will challenge everything she knows about herself and the island.”

Steven Pasquale will join Avalon as LA County Sheriff detective William Claypool, described by Deadline as “intelligent, headstrong and good-humored”. Claypool is called to Catalina Island to join Nicole to discover a new and terrifying secret that’s been uncovered on the island.

Who is Steven Pasquale?

Steven Pasquale has a history of large, well-known roles, the biggest being his seven-season appearance as Sean Garrity on the FX series Rescue Me (2004). Some of Pasquale’s other roles include Dallas in Alien vs. Predator: Requiem (2007), Luke Granby in Up All Night (2016), Dr. Jason Cole and Ian Price in Do No Harm (2013), and Johnny Elfman in The Good Wife (2014). His most recent role is as Rafael in the upcoming Peacock series The Missing (2022), which was also written by Avalon writer David E. Kelley.

Avalon was co-created by Michael Connelly (Bosch: Legacy) and David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies). Kelley will also serve as the series’ executive producer alongside Connelly and Dana Calvo, a producer of the Netflix series Narcos. Avalon will be produced by A+E Studios and 20th Television, along with Ross Fineman from Fineman Entertainment.
