Back in July, Sony gave an in-depth look at their upcoming PS VR2 headset in a Blog post revealing all you need to know about the virtual reality headset. Apart from the design, PlayStation revealed that the upcoming headset will feature up to 4K resolutions at 90 or 120Hz frame rates. It also revealed that the PlayStation VR2 has the ability to set custom boundaries to save players from crashing into household furniture.

With PS VR2, you can see your surroundings while wearing the headset for the first time ever. The new see-through vision can be enabled using a toggle, allowing you to switch between viewing your surroundings or the content on your virtual reality headset. Other features include you being able to film yourself while playing, by connecting a PS5 Camera to the console and scanning your room to customize your play area.

What games are coming to PlayStation VR2?

PlayStation has already announced a bunch of new games coming to their virtual reality headset. Revealed at the State of Play, these titles include Resident Evil Village, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners, No Man’s Sky, and a brand-new entry in the Horizon franchise.

Horizon Call of the Mountain is a brand new game set in Aloy’s universe built ground up for the PlayStation VR2. It is also being advertised as Sony’s flagship game for the VR2 headset.  You step in the footsteps of an entirely new character but meet Aloy and other familiar faces throughout your journey. Not much about the game has been revealed except an announcement trailer that helps set the tone of the game.

As of right now, the price of the PS VR2 has not been revealed. However, it looks like it will be cheaper than the Oculus Quest 2 and Valve Index given the fact that it requires a PlayStation 5 to operate and is a wired headset. Sony will probably release more information soon as the PlayStation VR2 comes out in early 2023.
