Konami has posted a job listing in regards to the future development of a ‘New Metal Gear’.

The listing goes on to state that “we are now recruiting a wide range of highly-skilled game development professionals who wish to work with us on the creation of “NEW METAL GEAR“”.

No other details are given and we are not sure if this will be a new game in the saga or a new IP with the same ambition of a Metal Gear game. Konami did state in the past that they intend to continue the franchise even after the departure of Hideo Kojima. They stated that the series could live on through other studios much like how Platinum Games delivered Metal Gear Revengeance in 2013.

This post comes just days after former Konami employee and Metal Gear creator, Hideo Kojima, formed his new independent studio. Kojima Productions will be working alongside Sony to deliver a new experience for the Playstation. Speaking to IGN, he stated that he wants his new project to be ‘slightly more edgy’.

All of this news comes after months of speculation as the situation between Kojima and Konami. The two have now officially separated their ties to one another but, no concrete details have emerged about their relationship. The tension between to two became apparent when Konami removed Hideo Kojima’s name from the box art of Metal Gear Solid V and earlier this month, Kojima was banned from attending the Video Game Awards by Konami.

Are you excited for the future of Metal Gear? What do you think Hideo Kojima’s next project will be? Let us know in the comments below.
