It is always sad to see a game get abandoned for a long time. The last time we had a proper Splinter Cell was all the way back in 2013 with Splinter Cell Blacklist. This game had some mixed reviews due to the voice-actor change, the story, the gameplay, and so on. Then we got a mission in Ghost Recon: Breakpoint, and that was it. Well, not long ago, we saw the announcement of a Splinter Cell Remake that got players excited. Yet, Ubisoft has confirmed that the Splinter Cell Remake release will come with a new story catering to modern audiences.
Ubisoft Wants Splinter Cell Remake’s Story To Adapt To Modern Audiences
This is something of a bold move when it comes to any game. However, Splinter Cell has a very dedicated fanbase that has been waiting for a comeback of the game. The Remake could be promising, provided Ubisoft doesn’t do an open-world RPG. Not that they are bad, but players are hoping that whenever the Splinter Cell Remake release date is announced, we get something similar to the original in terms of gameplay. Along with Metal Gear Solid, this is a game that sets standards for stealth games, so we hope Ubisoft does right by it.

Some players are nervous about hearing this news. The fact that Splinter Cell Remake’s story will be different from the original could be good or bad. It will all depend on how Ubisoft handles it. The developers have announced that they want to focus on doing a game for specific audiences instead of cluttering all in one. This is something that could happen with the upcoming Assassin’s Creed Mirage and whatever else they have planned. While we wait for a Splinter Cell Remake release date, we can rest easy knowing there are a lot of Assassin’s Creed games coming next year. So, this will be good for players while they wait for Sam Fisher to step out of the shadows.
