This article is over 10 years old and may contain outdated information.

At long last the list of free games which will be given to PS Plus subscribers for the month of January 2016 has been revealed.  It is as follows:

Dragon Age: Origins, PS3

Grim Fandango Remastered, PS4, PS Vita

Hardware: Rivals, PS4

Legends of War Patton, PS Vita

Medal of Honor Warfighter, PS3

Nihilumbra, PS Vita

Below is the short, official announcement video for January PS4 titles.

It is interesting to note (especially since we here at The Nerd Stash have not covered the free PS Plus games in a while) a trend with Sony’s official announcements of these games which have continued since October of this year:

They have not been including any information about the free games available for the PS Vita and for the PS3 in their official videos and descriptions.  They have, of course, been including them in their lists, however since the month of October, there has not been a short description of these other games, which is something that was done previously for them and is still done for the PS4 titles.

PS Plus

How much longer will Sony continue to support these older platforms?  Only time will tell, although it is highly likely that official support will begin to cease around November 2016, as Sony has previously stated that they have an ideal lifecycle of ten years for each console and that is when the PS3 will celebrate a decade of gaming memories.
