What a day it has been for Silent Hill fans. After years without a game, the canceled Silent Hill P.T. one, and just apparently nothing on the horizon, well, the sun shines for everyone today. Konami brought two pieces of amazing news today. The news of an upcoming brand new Silent Hill game and one thing that we already saw in leaks and rumors. A Silent Hill 2 Remake announcement. When we fired up the showcase, we had no idea it would be official. Yet, it was. And it is a great time to be a Silent Hill fan because we’re going to be getting a lot of things in the future.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is being made on Unreal Engine 5
While we had seen some leaks and rumors about these announcements, seeing the trailer today was just something huge. Silent Hill 2 is one of the most beloved games in the franchise, if not the most. And it would seem that even Silent Hill isn’t safe from the remake trend that has followed games like Resident Evil, The Last of Us, and the rumored Horizon Zero Dawn. Now, with the Silent Hill 2 remake announcement, we know we’ll be getting a great game built from the ground up.
