Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo system introduced a new gameplay mechanic, alongside references to some of the 90s arcade Mortal Kombat games. Characters like Sonya Blade, Sektor, Stryker, and Cyrax are the remakes of their MK Trilogy in the way they look. To keep that nostalgia blood pumping, a recent post by Ed Boon revealed a new skin for Scorpion in Mortal Kombat 1, taken directly from the 1995 live-action movie! And there’s more.
Ed Boon Is Firing up the MK1 Fanbase
Ed Boon has been feeding the Mortal Kombat 1 community teasers of the upcoming content for the past couple of days. First, we had Homelander face-off with Liu Kang, and now it is time for some fashion show-off taken right from the 90s.
Looking over Ed Boon’s post here, we can spot the MK1 1995 movie Scorpion Skin in Mortal Kombat 1. Played by Chris Casamassa, Scorpion was one of the main antagonists of the first MK live-action movie adaptation. This is probably going to be a bundle that you can buy for Scorpion in the game. But there’s another post featuring Scorpion and a new Kameo fighter. That’s Ferra!
First introduced in Mortal Kombat X, Ferra is a character bonded with another fighter called Torr. Ferra is the little guy on Torr’s back, and guess what? She’s now riding on 1995’s Scorpion back as a Kameo fighter!
After Mavado, this is the second new Kameo fighter coming to the game in the next couple of weeks. It’s not detailed whether Ferra is going to stay behind your main fighter the whole match or not. It could be a permanent position for the Kameo, or it is probably when you use her abilities. As of right now, there is no information on when the 1995 Scorpion movie skin and Ferra are joining Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombat 1 is currently available to play on PS5,
