Tire of your characters walking around with the same look in Vampire Survivors? Not to worry, as you can change their appearance. It is a feature you must unlock first, but the process isn’t complicated. Also, if you’ve played the game for some time now, you may already have this feature available but have yet to take advantage of it. Otherwise, our guide will show you what you need to unlock the alternate skins for the characters in Vampire Survivors.

Change Alternate Skins for Characters in Vampire Survivors

Vampire Survivors Alternate Characters Skins

Vampire Survivors feature dozens of cool characters to unlock and play as. Besides acquiring various weapons and abilities, collecting characters is another fun aspect of the game.

You don’t have to keep the same appearance of the characters either, thanks to the customization feature in the game. To get these skins for characters in Vampire Survivors, you must gain one thing: Mindbender relic.

The Mindbender relic is not something that you can pick up like other items. Instead, it is an award for all those items you pick up along the way.

Vampire Survivors rewards you with the Mindbender relic once you fill 50 Collection entries. As such, veteran players may very well already have it as well as the ability to change skins.

If you don’t have it, one of the best ways to get started is to collect the most straightforward items first. Also, remember that you have a greater chance of picking up items when you unlock a new character and use them. This way, you can get what you need without too much grinding to change skins for the Vampire Survivors characters.

When you acquire the Mindbender relic, you can change the appearance of most characters. Once in the character selection screen, click on a character and check their portrait at the bottom of the screen. If the characters have two boxes under their portraits, then you can change their skins in Vampire Survivors.

So far, the following standard characters do not have alternate skins:

  • Ambrojoe
  • Cavallo
  • Divano
  • Gallo
  • Mortaccio
  • O’Sole
  • Ramba

There’s no word on whether they will get alternate skins in future updates. For now, you have plenty of character skins to play around with.

Vampire Survivors is available on PC.
