How to Defeat The Crimson Dread in God of War Ragnarok?

The Crimson Dread boss fight is optional and part of the ‘For Vanaheim’ side quest in the Vanaheim realm. While exploring the Vanaheim wilderness and completing quests, you will stumble upon a wyvern-like creature known as The Crimson Dread.

This fire-breathing monster is a tough opponent. So, be sure to follow these few simple steps to bring the flying aggressor to the ground and defeat the Crimson Dread.

1. The Crimson Dread is a pretty agile beast and will try to bite your head away when it lands eyes on you.
2. Try to dodge and parry as many of its scathing attacks as you can. These might be unblockable, so simply stay out of its radius.
3. The Crimson Dread is a pretty big target but fast. Nevertheless, it should be pretty easy to hit with a spear, axe, and other weapons you got on you.
4. Once you inflict some damage, the majestic beast will take flight.
5. When in the air, it will start pouring rain on its trajectory or start shooting firey projectiles at you.
6. Do your best to dodge these new attacks, and throw your Leviathan Axe at it while the beast is still in the air.
7. The Leviathan Axe will bring it down and stun it for some time. Blast everything you have on it, including attacks by Atreus.
8. The previous sequence will repeat with him leaping into the air. Focus on avoiding its attacks, try your best to land every hit, and you will defeat the Crimson Dread easily.
