Dunsparce joins the collection of 2nd Generation Pokémon to enter the Paldea region. In Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can find Dunsparce scattered all around the map. Despite this, they are not a common spawn. So, it can still take some luck to track one down. We’ll show you where to look to have the best chance of finding Dunsparce.

Find and Catch Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Find Dunsparce

Dunsparce is a Normal-type Pokémon that resembles a bright yellow bug. As Dunsparce spawns all around the map in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you have plenty of chances to find one for your Pokédex. However, since they are a rare spawn, they don’t always pop up in the locations that they should.

Here are the best areas to search for Dunsparce:

  • Glaseado Mountain
  • Tagtree Thicket
  • East Province (Areas One, Two, Three)
  • North Province (Areas One, Two, Three)
  • South Province (Areas One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six)
  • West Province (Areas Two, Three)

As you wander around these areas, you will eventually find Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Something to keep in mind, however, is that you must attack this Pokémon fast. Dunsparce isn’t much of an instigator. So, they will run when they spot you. They tend to burrow under the ground. As they’re a rare spawn, you don’t want to lose one as you never know when you’ll stumble upon one of them again.

When you find Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, it has some comfortable base stats despite it being rather slow:

  • HP: 100
  • Attack: 70
  • Defense: 70
  • Special Attack: 65
  • Special Defense: 65
  • Speed: 45

If you are familiar with Dunsparce from previous Pokémon games, you may find yourself surprised to see that it now has an evolution. After you find Dunsparce in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you can evolve them into Dudunsparce once it knows Hyper Drill.

Dunsparce is a straightforward Normal-type Pokémon to have in the game. But it’s always exciting to see how classic Pokémon can evolve when used in new regions. In this case, you can get yourself an entirely new Pokémon out of this journey after evolving Dunsparce.
