Who is Larvitar in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet?

Larvitar is a small, green reptilian Pokémon with a rocky hide. It has a blunt snout, red eyes, four tiny toes on each foot, and a split tail. This Pokémon is rarely seen and rarely captured. Larvitar feeds primarily on rocks, which they swallow whole. It evolves into Pupitar starting at level 30 and into Tyranitar starting at level 55. Larvitar made its first appearance in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet in 2017. It is weak to Fighting, Ground, Steel, Ice, Water, and Grass-type moves but is resistant to Normal, Poison, Flying, Bug, Rock, Ghost, and Fire-type activities.

You can find Larvitar in the Western part of the Map Right next to Mesagoza, but only if you have Pokémon Violet, as it is exclusive to this version. If you are a Scarlet player, unfortunately, you won’t be able to find this Pokemon. Here are the detailed steps to capture Larvitar:

  1. Go to Mesagoza, head West, and cross the bridge
  2. Come down the river to the south until you find another bridge.
  3. Cross the bridge; you will most likely see the Larvitar on your mini-map. We recommend you consume a Sandwich that increases the Spawn rate of Ground or Rock-type Pokemon.
  4. Go up the Mountain there, and you will find the Larvitar. After discovering Larvitar, capture it with Pokéballs or use your most vital move to weaken it easily.

So there you have it. Our guide is finding and capturing Larvitar in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. This small but mighty Pokémon can be a powerful asset on your team, so make sure you add it to your roster as soon as possible!
