Similar to Rockruff or Toxel, Applin is a Grass- and Dragon-type pocket monster in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that possesses more than one evolution form. Specifically, Applin’s evolved form will differ depending on the Evolution Item type given to it. Applin can only be transformed once, so if Trainers wish to obtain both of its evolutions, they will need to know where to find this small Grass- and Dragon-type Pokémon. The biggest hint of its hiding locations is its fruit-like shape of an apple. Continue reading to learn where to find Applin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Finding Applin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Applin Spawn Locations in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To get Applin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, Trainers must search in the densely forested areas of the world map. One such location includes the woodlands in the southern portion of South Province Area Two, below the town of Cortondo. Here, players can use their Mount’s Dash to ram into trees to get an Applin to fall from their branches.

According to Gamer Tweak, the Dash Move for Miraidon or Koraidon once Trainers defeat the Stony Cliff Titan in South Province Area Three. This formidable creature can be countered using Grass, Water, or Ground-type pocket monsters that are at least Level 15. Once players have subdued this Titan, they will receive Dash for their Mount, which can be used to traverse the terrain at a slightly faster pace or ram objects like trees. YouTuber Quick Tips claims that an excellent spot to ram trees for an Applin encounter in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet would be the forest south of Cortondo mentioned above. However, suppose players check the Pokédex for this pocket monster. In that case, they will notice that it also appears in woodlands west of Mesagoza, including areas on the northern side of the region.

Evolving Applin in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Evolving Applin into Flapple and Appletun in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

To evolve Applin, Trainers must give a Sweet Apple or Tart Apple to the Grass- and Dragon-type pocket monster. Sweet Apples and Tart Apples are special Evolution Items that can be purchased from the Delibird Shops found in major towns. An apple will cost 2,200 Pokédollars each. The Sweet Apple will transform Applin into Appletun, and the Tart Apple will have it evolve into Flapple.
