Sandy Shocks is among the fearsome Paradox Pokémon you can catch in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. Appearing like a nightmare version of the 1st Generation Magneton, Sandy Shocks is an Ancient Pokémon. You can’t catch one until you finish the main game, however. So, be prepared to wait for a while before you get your hands on one.

Where to Catch Sandy Shocks in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet Catch Sandy Shocks Paradox Pokémon

First off, Sandy Shocks is exclusive to Scarlet. So, if you have the Violet version of the game, you will not see this Paradox Pokémon in the wild. Instead, those players will only get Sandy Shocks if you trade for it with someone else or buy the Scarlet version of the game.

With that out of the way, let’s go track down one of the Ancient Paradox Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet.

Sandy Shocks is found in the Area Zero zone near The Great Crater of Paldea. This is why you must complete the main storyline before searching for them because the area is only unlocked post-game.

To catch Sandy Shocks in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, search near the rocky terrain around Research Outpost 1.

They are not a difficult Pokémon to spot since they are rather tall. Also, Sandy Shocks will respawn. So, if you happen to defeat it in battle by accident, you can always return later on to try again.

When you have Sandy Shocks in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you’ll see that they are a good dual-type to use every now and then. An electric/ground-type Pokémon such as Sandy Shocks works well in your lineup, especially since they have an incredibly high base special attack stat. Take a look at all the stats below:

  • HP: 85
  • Attack: 81
  • Defense: 97
  • Special Attack: 121
  • Special Defense: 85
  • Speed: 101

Another cool thing about Sandy Shocks in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is their Protosynthesis ability. This ability boosts their Special Attack stat by 30% anytime the “Sunny Day” weather condition is active.

Additionally, Sandy Shocks has some solid Steel and Psychic moves it can learn while leveling up. This grants the dual-type Pokémon even more versatility in battle, allowing you to pull them out against a host of different types of opponents.

So, if you haven’t defeated the game yet, keep going. You’ll see those post-credits roll and unlock the chance to catch Sandy Shocks before you know it.
