Many of us have been anticipating the next step of the development of H1Z1. Daybreak Game Company released the title for early access back in January 2015. With over a year of time being able to tweak and adjust the game for final release. The game was advertised and announced as a zombie-themed MMO survival title, and many have enjoyed playing it as just that. However, H1Z1’s multiplayer mode is what most players end up gravitating to. What results of this are essentially two entirely different communities and players within a single title. Recognizing this, Daybreak has announced splitting the game into two separate titles, H1Z1: King of the Kill and H1Z1: Just Survive. Daybreak released an official announcement of the details and what to expect.

“The more we developed this game with you, our community, the more we realized that in order to fully support both aspects of H1Z1, and their respective players, we needed to make them their own stand-alone games supported by their own dedicated development teams. Many players in the community have been discussing splitting the game and we’ve heard you loud and clear. We want to make sure we give both titles the support they need and deserve to truly flourish.”

In many ways, players feel H1Z1 has been dragging their heels for a long time in the games development. What we can hope for from the division, is that both exclusive titles are receiving the attention and care they need to get out of “early access”. Both games will be released for early access on February 17th and King of the Kill will be out of early access and on PC, Xbox One, and Playstation 4 this summer. If you already purchased H1Z1 on Steam, then you will receive both games in your library upon their release. H1Z1 is currently on sale for 25% off in the Steam marketplace for $14.99.

Do you think splitting the game into two separate entities is wise? Let us know what you think and comment below!
