Titanfall was an of the best and unique multiplayer games of the last generation, but it lacked a fully fledged story. Thankfully this time, around Respawn Entertainment seeks to rectify this problem by including a fleshed out single player campaign. Since the last of the original Titanfall‘s DLC finished in 2014, Respawn has been solely focusing on creating a superior sequel. Given that Titanfall 2 will no longer be a Xbox One exclusive, the opportunity to grow an even larger, dedicated community is there. They are also partnering with Nexon to bring Titanfall to iOS and Android.

Lead writer, Jesse Stern explained in an interview with Forbes that the setting would be “…grounded, dirty, human, and real.” Stern went on to explain that “One of the shortcomings of the first game was we just did not have the mechanism to tell everyone ‘here’s who you are, here’s where you are, and who’s around you.’ We knew all the answers, we just could not deliver it.” Continuing on, Jesse Stern stated that their campaign is seeking to retell “…the story of the American Revolution and the American Civil War in space,” and “…deliver a vision of grand global colonial warfare.” Respawn Entertainment is also seeking to develop TV series based off of Titanfall with Lionsgate TV. “We are trying to find a way to tell a story in the worlds we want to be in and produce in the TV model.” The only issue, as one can expect when the world has massive robots in it, is the overall cost of the series. “It would be very expensive.” Stern remarks.

What do you think of Titanfall‘s sequel getting a campaign? Are you excited to hop back into some giant robots? What additions would you like to see added? Sound off below!
