Rookidee is a Flying-type Tiny Bird Pokémon in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet that evolves into Corvisquire and Corviknight after reaching certain level milestones. Corviknight, in particular, has notably high HP and Defense for a Flying-type pocket monster, making it an exceptional tanky combatant against Poison-, Ground-, Grass-, and Bug-type opponents. Moreover, Corviknight is equipped with the Hidden Ability, Mirror Armor, enabling it to reflect any stat debuffs it receives. Similarly, Rookidee and Corvisquire have Big Pecks, a Hidden Ability that makes them immune to Defense-reducing effects. Accordingly, all members of the Rookidee family are excellent choices for defense in Scarlet and Violet.
Catching & Evolving Rookidee in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet
Rookidee can be found in all areas of the East Province and the eastern region of the South Province in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet. A choice location to search for Rookidees would be the grassy plateaus to the east of Artazon, a town within East Province (Area One). Rookidee can be encountered alone or in a flock led by Corvisquire.
If Trainers do not have any Quick or Ultra Balls to catch Rookidee, they might need to weaken it for capture, especially if they are low-level. As a Flying-type Tiny Bird Pokémon, Rookidee is vulnerable to Electric-, Ice-, and Rock-type Moves. Choice combatants for the battle would be the Electric-type Mareep, the Rock-type Sudowoodo, or the Fighting- and Ice-type Crabominable. Of course, other elemental pocket monsters that possess Electric-, Ice-, and Rock-type Movesets can also be effective in subduing a Wild Rookidee or a Wild Corvisquire.
Once Trainers have caught Rookidee in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, they can evolve it into Corvisquire by advancing its level to 18. If the Rookidee was already at Level 18 or higher when it was captured, it would evolve the next time it levels up. Players can speed up this process by feeding it EXP Candy or a Rare Candy. Likewise, to evolve Corvisquire into the Flying- and Steel-type Corviknight, Trainers must have the Raven Pokémon reach Level 38. Additionally, catching or defeating Wild Rookidees and Corvisquires might grant players Rookidee Feathers. These feathers serve as TM crafting materials for making the Technical Machines for Iron Head, Tailwind, and Brave Bird.
Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
