“In Plain Sight” is a Favour in God of War: Ragnarok that takes place in The Plains of Vanaheim and involves Kratos hunting down a dangerous foe known as the Soul Eater. These golem-like beings are a race of corrupted Ancients with an unsatiable hunger for the souls of any living being. Accordingly, a local Soul Eater inhabits the upper-left side of The Plains, northeast of the island Yggdrasil Rift. To get started on the Favour to hunt it down, players must search the area for an animal carcass. Users will know they have found the right body when Kratos remarks, “Dragons do not leave marks like these.”
Completing the In Plain Sight Favour in Ragnarok
After finding the first carcass in The Plains during the “In Plain Sight” Favour in God of War: Ragnarok, players must search for another dead animal with the same blackened scars covering its body. This area of the region is small, so it should not take users too long to encounter it.
After finding the second beast carcass during the “In Plain Sight” Favour, God of War: Ragnarok players must proceed to search for the culprit of this mayhem — the Soul Eater. According to YouTuber Gamerpillar, the Soul Eater will appear camouflaged in the environment as a pile of stones. Freya will even note that the golem “may look like rocks but is far more deadly.” Accordingly, players must search around for a pile of rubble that is notably darker than the surrounding boulders. The exact location of the miniboss might be different for some players, but it will typically be tucked away in a small corner that is still visible from the main areas.
Once Ragnarok players have found the Soul Eater “In Plain Sight,” they can initiate the fight by striking it or hurling their weaponry at its body. The opponent will then rise and begin its attack. As a stone golem, the Soul Eater is invulnerable to physical strikes but becomes vulnerable when its chest cavity is open. However, be mindful of the projectiles that fire from its chest. Kratos can also use these explosive rocks as a means to damage this boss. Continuously attack the chest area when exposed to defeat this miniboss and complete the Favour.
God of War: Ragnarok is available exclusively on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5.
