This article is over 9 years old and may contain outdated information.

It’s time to take a look at another BrickSwag box from the Brick Builders Club! We always get excited when we see this box in the mailbox and look forward to seeing what cool Lego-oriented items have been included. ย There is usually a t-shirt, a couple of different brick packs (some lego brand, some not) and the Build Magazine as well as trading cards and a poster. ย Each box varies in what you get. ย So, what cool things did the Brick Builders Club send us for January?

First, we will take a look at the t-shirt for this month.

Brickswag 2016

In honor of Valentine’s Day, they sent a really cool ย black t-shirt that basically shows an x-ray with a heart. ย It’s not necessarily lego related, however, it is a pretty cool t-shirt.

Brickswag Poster January 2016

There was a poster included in this box that was funny in an unfortunate way. ย It was also appropriate for Valentine’s Day and quite cute. ย The poor guy just doesn’t have a chance!

One of the sets of bricks that came in the box ย was brought by Constructibles. ย According to the Build Magazine included, it appears there was the chance to get one of two sets in your box.

The other pack of bricks that were included was a booster pack. ย It is a bag of random bricks to add to your collection. ย In my son’s case, he doesn’t need additional Legos for his collection. ย They’re EVERYWHERE! However, for that kid that doesn’t have tons of Legos, this gives them a few extras each month they receive the box.

For that trading card fan, there is five additional cards for your collection. ย I’m not sure if every box has the same cards, however, I think my favorite this round was the BlockHead. ย It could have something to do with the fact that lately my son has “sucked” me into the world of Minecraft and this guy looks a lot like Steve.

This Magazine had some pretty cool information in it. ย First there was a list of locations you can visit a Lego-themed exhibit. ย I found two that are within driving distance and could constitute a future road trip. ย There was also an article on the Old vs New Lego Logo on the bricks. ย Comparing the old LEGO to the new one and the differences in the type. ย In honor of Valentine’s Day, the magazine included a review of the Seasonal Lego set, “Valentine’s Cupid Dog” (40201) and, for the person who has plenty of legos to custom-build, they have provided instructions from AbbiesDables.com on how to buildย a spaceship.

The BrickSwag Team also wanted to inform their subscribers that they travel with the Brick Fest Live! and provide a list of dates and locations in the magazine.

So, did you get your January 2016 Brick Swag box? ย How did you like it?
