Since June 2015, we have all been eagerly anticipating the return of our favorite show, Game of Thrones. With the television show caught up completely with the books, this is the first time viewers and readers alike are going in completely blind for the new season. All of season 6 will be new content and dealing further with the stories of the characters we love and would love to see die. The Game of Thrones season six teaser trailer titledย Hall of Faces was recently uploaded to the official youtube channel of Game of Thrones. The trailer takes place in the Hall of Faces, and for those who don’t remember, is the deepest level of the House of Black and White – a temple in Braavos dedicated to the many-faced God. To understand the trailer further, we must consider the purpose of the Hall of Faces.
“The Hall of Faces houses skinned faces of the dead, and is found in a great hall within theย House of Black and White. The Faceless Menย use the combination of magic spells and faces of the dead to create their different camouflages.”
Inside the teaser, we first see the faces of past characters who are now dead and who’s faces now belong to the Many-Faced God. However, as the trailer continues we begin to see the faces of characters who are not currently dead, or have not quite been confirmed dead (still crossing fingers for John Snow!) Is this HBO’s way of eluding of more death to come? Could this be the season that Tyrion finally gets the hatchet? The Camera pans across many faces of good men from Westeros who have dies traversing the last six seasons. If the teaser trailer here is a glimpse into the future that will come to pass, it might be best now to start preparing for some fine goodbyes. Fans have particularly been anticipating Tyrion’s death for multiple seasons now. He has cheated death more than any other character to date and season six just might be where he runs out of luck. Tyrion has become a fan favorite with his wit and arroganceย while revealing deep down he is one of the few good men in Westeros. There is time, however, and Tyrion is not dead (yet).
