You can actually use Butterfly Beetles for loads of different things within the game. You can create weapons with them, along with armor. Typically, when you’re looking for crafting items, you’d get them by defeating monsters or looting specific areas, but that isn’t the case with Butterfly Beetles. You’ll have to collect them as a quest reward if you want to obtain them. However, there is only a slight chance you will get them.
The only way you can obtain Butterfly Beetles in Monster Hunter Rise is to collect them as a bonus item from the Mushyroom Market of the Argosy missions. You’re only given a chance for the character to return with a Butterfly Beetle.
