TM131 Pollen Puff in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
This article is over 2 years old and may contain outdated information.

Pollen Puff is a Special Bug-type Move in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet capable of dealing damage to enemy targets but can also restore HP if used on an ally. Offering 90 Power with 100 Accuracy, Pollen Puff is relatively costly at a base of 15 PP. Nevertheless, its damaging-dealing and restorative characteristics make the Move an excellent tool, even if Trainers are not battling those weak to Bug-type Movesets, including Grass-, Psychic-, and Dark-type pocket monsters. Similar to Frenzy Plant in Scarlet and Violet, no Pokémon inherently know Pollen Puff or can learn it upon leveling up. Instead, the only way to teach this Move to Pokémon is with its TM.

Unlocking & Crafting the Pollen Puff TM in Pokémon Scarlet & Violet

There are three primary ways to get the Pollen Puff TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, two of which involve exploration. The first method requires players to beat the Team Star Fairy Crew, after which the recipe will be automatically added to the protagonist’s list of TM Machine recipes. Team Star Fairy is stationed in North Province (Area Three).

The second source of the Pollen Puff TM in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is a Poké Ball located in Area One of the South Province. According to sources at Game8, the Poké Ball can be found in a yellow bed of flowers south of the Los Platos Pokécenter and near a lighthouse that sits northwest of the Inlet Grotto. Alternatively, YouTuber GameLoc states that Trainers can find a third copy of the Pollen Puff TM near the river north of Medali. To reach it, players must begin their journey at the Medali (West) Pokécenter.

Starting from the Medali (West) Pokécenter, Trainers must follow the northeastward trail leading into the Casseroya Lake region. However, before players reach the bridge on this path, they must turn right and follow the riverbank to the corner of a cliff wall. Hidden under the shade of the tall mountain, players will find a Poké Ball with the Pollen Puff TM. Once players have obtained the Pollen Puff TM at least once, they can craft it using the following materials:

  • League Points × 10,000
  • Kricketot Shell × 3
  • Petilil Leaf × 3
  • Rellor Mud × 5

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are available on the Nintendo Switch.
