False Nails are a Glamour item used to add dyeable fingernails to one’s Hands in FFXIV. Whether Fashionistas of Light are going for a dark gothic look or a dainty pastel aesthetic, this cosmetic item is an excellent gear piece that can fit many different custom-made Glamour sets. Additionally, those taking part in the Fashion Report for Week 261 will need False Nails shaded with Black Soot Dye to reach a perfect score of 100 Points for the maximum MGP reward. Therefore, those endeavoring to achieve this goal will need to know how and where they can get False Nails in Final Fantasy XIV.

Unlocking False Nails in FFXIV

False Nails Vendor Map Location in FFXIV

Unlike Dyes in FFXIV, False Nails are Market Prohibited, meaning that players cannot buy and sell this Glamour item on the Market Board. Moreover, it cannot be made by crafters. The only way to obtain False Nails is by giving Ananta Dreamstaffs ×6 to Madhura in The Fringes.

For those unfamiliar with Madhura, she is an NPC Merchant who runs the Dreamstaff Exchange in the Castellum Velodyna at (X:21, Y:26.3) in The Fringes, and the closest Aetheryte to her location is The Peering Stones. As a member of the Ananta Beast Tribe, Madhura only does business with those who are in possession of Ananta Dreamstaffs. These objects serve as a currency that can be earned by fulfilling Ananta Daily Quests. To unlock these Beast Tribe Quests, players will need to own the Stormblood expansion and complete the MSQ, “The Silence of the Gods.” Once this prerequisite has been fulfilled, “Brooding Broodmother” will become available, which adventurers can complete to unlock the Ananta Daily Quests.

Once players have reached a Friendly Reputation with the Ananta Beast Tribe, Ananta will offer False Nails for Ananta Dreamstaffs ×6 in FFXIV. Players only need to have completed two days’ worth of dailies for the Ananta Tribe to collect enough Dreamstaffs for the purchase. Once players have bought the False Nails cosmetic, they can dye it with Black Soot Dye obtained from the Market Board or the Ixali Beast Tribe Vendor in Black Shroud. As a result, adventurers will be one step closer to reaching the 100-point mark for the Fashion Report in the Gold Saucer.

Final Fantasy XIV is available on PC, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5.
