Last week at the Nintendo Switch Direct, Nintendo added a bunch of classic Game Boy and Game Boy Advance games to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription service, which now has many rumors going around about possible Pokémon Classic games being added to the console soon. The early Pokémon games which were on those consoles are Pokémon Red and Blue, and also all the way to the more recent ones which are Ruby and Sapphire. So far, we don’t have an official announcement about whether this could happen, but also the anniversary and Pokémon Day is right around the corner.
Could Pokémon Day Have Some Classic Games In Store For Us?
Japan’s Nintendo YouTube channel updated a video for the Nintendo Switch Online Nintendo 64 services last week, and then fans noted how a particular part features Pokemon Stadium was updated to remove a disclaimer that stated that fans couldn’t transfer Pokemon into the Pokémon Stadium to be used in that game…which could very much be an Easter egg. Fans have been wondering if this update in the video could mean that Nintendo is preparing to release Pokemon Red and Blue as well as Pokemon Gold and Silver to the Nintendo Switch Online subscription, and hopefully add cross-compatibility with the Pokémon Stadium games as a part of the service.
It is most likely that if this is actually to happen, it will be announced on Pokémon Day, which is February 27th. There are no announcements yet for Pokémon this year, but we are hoping that will change with the anniversary of the franchise coming later this year.
