The holiday of love approaches, and Pokémon GO is here to celebrate it in style. This is all thanks to the game’s Valentine’s Event that kicked off on February 8, 2023, and lasts until February 14, 2023. If you’re familiar with the themed events, then you know that they bring new raids and increased chances of catching certain shiny Pokémon. Valentine’s Event 2023 – Pokémon GO Guide
Pokémon GO offers a worldwide challenge to celebrate Valentine’s Day. You will get these Event Bonuses when you participate:
- 2x Stardust from opening Gifts.
- Any Lure Modules activated during the event last for 2 hours.
Don’t forget there are also event-themed stickers you can earn from opening Gifts, heading to the in-game shop, or spinning PokéStops. There are also new avatar items to check out at the in-game shop.

Valentine’s Event 2023 – Field Research Tasks
The Valentin’s Event will bring many event-themed Field Research Tasks. When you complete them, you have a chance of encountering these Pokémon. The shiny ones are in bold:

Valentine’s Event 2023 – Timed Research: Lovely Wishes
For the Timed Research, you’ll have to complete the first step before things branch off into three choices:
- Catching Pokémon: Gain double XP when you catch Pokémon during the event
- Using Daily Adventure Incense: Double the length of the Daily Adventure Incense from 15 minutes to 30 minutes during the event
- Pokémon Candy: Double the candy earned from catching Pokémon during the event
These paths come with different bonuses and tasks for the event. No matter which route you pursue, you will have an increased chance of a Frillish encounter (shiny too).

Valentine’s Event 2023 – Global Challenge
The Global Challenge began on February 7, 2023, and it lasts until February 14, 2023. With this, you will work with other trainers to guide each other through this Pokémon GO Valentine’s Event 2023. You’ll have to send gifts to your friends, and if everyone sends enough gifts, bonuses will unlock for everyone during the event. The goal is to send 100,000,000 Gifts.
Here are the available bonuses:
- 3x Transfer Candy for the event
- 2x Transfer Candy XL for trainers Level 31 and up for the event
Valentine’s Event 2023 – Featured Attacks and Form Change
During the event, if you evolve your Kirlia into Gardevoir or Gallade, they will learn the Charged Attack Synchronoise. Those you will encounter during raids will also know the move.
Meanwhile, you can enjoy a form change for your Furfrou. You can go from the Natural Form Furfrou to Heart Trim Furfrou. Your Furfrou begins in the natural form, but you can select them in your storage and click on “Change Form.” From there, choose your trim. It will cost you 25 Furfrou Candy and 10,000 Stardust.
