Softwood is a common material in the game that you can quickly obtain. You can collectย Softwood from trees near the Forest of Valor, Plaza, and many other places. You can even purchaseย Softwood from Kristoff’s Stall.
One Signpost takes 2ร1 area, and you can not place them on top of any other item. Signposts are very valuable when identifying things you put in the chests. Because you can place a Signpost in front of a cupboard and assign any available icon, it is much easier to remember where your chest is and what is inside.
You can craft signposts in Disney Dreamlight Valley by using 10 Softwood at the Crafting Table. Here are the steps you need to follow.
- Go to a Crafting Table.
- Select Signpost from the menu and craft the Signpost by using 10 Softwood.
- Go to the Furniture menu and select ‘Misc.”
- Select the Signpost and place it wherever you like on the map.

When interacting with the post, you will be presented with a menu of 21 icons – this is your only customizing option. Unfortunately, it is impossible to alter any other features, such as the color or size of the selected icon.
