Want to know how to get TM 090 Spikes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet? Spikes are what you need if you are looking for a variety of moves in combat. Using Spikes, your Pokémon scatters sharp spikes on the opponent’s side of the field. Depending on the number of spikes layers on the opponent’s field, he will receive 12.5%, 16%, and 25% of his maximum HP each turn. Unfortunately, this move is useless against Flying-type Pokémon and Pokémon with the Levitate ability, but against others, this move is quite effective. Only Cloyster has this skill by default, and a few Pokémon can learn this move by leveling up, but everyone else needs TM. And our guide is here to help you and tell you how to get TM 090 Spikes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet.

Where to Find TM 090 Spikes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

First of all, it’s worth noting that you can get TM 090 Spikes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet in two ways:

  • Find in the vastness of Paldea.
  • Craft on TM Machine.

If you want to jump right into crafting, you won’t be able to do that, as you’ll need a recipe. And the bad news is that you will not unlock the TM 090 Spikes recipe after defeating the story bosses. The only way to get the recipe for Spikes TM is to find it in the wild of Paldea, and luckily there are three places you can visit:

  • The first place you can visit is West Province (Area One). Take the Pokemon Center as your starting point and head east towards the river. When you reach the bridge, turn right and follow the river to the south. Get to the point on the first image above and collect your first TM 090 Spikes between the rocks.
  • The next point with TM is in East Province (Area Three). Take the Pokemon Center in the west as your starting point and head east. Get to the point in the second image above and collect the TM 090 Spikes under a small tree.
  • Finally, head to the hot Assado Desert area. Take the town of Cascarrafa as your starting point and head northwest. Walk along the rocky wall in the Assado Desert, and you will soon reach the ruins. Explore the area near the rocky and collect the final Spikes TM.

How to Craft TM 090 Spikes in Pokemon Scarlet and Violet

Once you have found at least one Spikes TM, you will automatically unlock the recipe and be able to craft copies. So visit your nearest Pokemon Center and use the TM Machine. To Craft TM 090 Spikes, select the TM recipe from the list and place the following materials:

  • 3000 LP
  • Qwilfish Spines x3
  • Pincurchin Spines x3

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are available exclusively on Nintendo Switch.
