Street Fighter V was lacking in content when it originally released on February 16, 2016, on PS4 and PC. Capcom has promised that they will right this wrong with free updates and the first one is set to drop on March 28 and 30.
March 28 will bring challenge mode, online rematches, and battle lounge improvements. Challenge mode will essentially be a set of tutorials that you can play through to learn the ins-and-outs of each character – something the original game did not do, which led to a fair amount of confusion among more casual players. Online rematches will allow players to get instant revenge on opponents who just defeated them, as the name implies.
One of the most requested additions has been an improved battle lobby. Previously, players were only able to make lobbies of two players but the update will up this number to eight.
March 30 will add Alex to the roster and finally open the in-game store. You can spend your in-game currency (fight money) to buy the new character or just put down actual money if you don’t want to grind out fight money.
This is Alex’s first appearance in a Street Fighter game since the Alpha series. We haven’t seen how he plays in Street Fighter V, but we think it’s a safe bet that he hasn’t changed much in the past 20 years.
